Building with a History

Preston VASA Hall is located in rural Preston, WA, at the foot of Tiger Mountain State Forest and the Raging River. Our Lodge was founded on February 21, 1919 and meetings were held in the IOGT Hall that was later donated to the Preston founders. They soon outgrew the Hall and made an addition. The Hall was known for its beautiful dance floor. It was always alive with dancing and music. Unfortunately, in December 1932, the Christmas decoration in the Hall caught fire and the Hall burned to the ground.

For 19 years, meetings were held in homes. In 1949 an old store building was bought from the Weyerhaeuser Company for $101. By 1951, the members had taken the old building apart and rebuilt it in Preston, where members continue to get together monthly for meetings and cultural events.
